World War II Photograph

The Second Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands, October 26, 1942. This is the first of the first attack. The fire is being centered on the oncoming Japanese bombers which are hidden by fire. The plane at the left is an American TBF which has almost run out of gas. (10/26/42)
